LAD LAKE EDUCATION AND LIFE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT CENTER
The Lad Lake Education and Life Skills Development Center is more than a building. It’s sign of hope; a doorway of opportunity for youth and families seeking strong education and highly individualized transitional services.
The Center creates a unique learning environment focused on helping youth who are at risk of school failure, who lack the necessary skills to live independently, who are struggling with emotional or behavioral problems, or who are experiencing crises.
By combining our Education, Independent Living, and Outreach services into one central Milwaukee location, we can respond intensively to the needs of the youth and families we work with, individualizing their learning experience and equipping them with critical life skills. And by concentrating our services and efforts within this powerful environment, we break down the barriers to learning and give at-risk youth and families the skills to succeed.
Lad Lake is dedicated to helping Milwaukee’s youth and families achieve their full potential in the community, and the Educational and Life Skills Development Center provides the spark we need to accomplish such a vision.
With this strong, permanent presence in Milwaukee, we hope to attract additional community support, both in terms of funding partners and volunteers. The additional space in this facility will provide opportunities for new revenue streams, such as delivering educational services to students from North Shore school districts. Its proximity to UWM, Cardinal Stritch, and other higher education institutions will offer research and grant opportunities, as well as internship and trainee programs.
