  
Throughout her life, Teresa has encountered many obstacles. And yet, she’s faced every one of them with maturity, courage, and a determination to succeed. One of her most difficult hurdles was growing up without much support – something that changed when she entered Lad Lake’s Independent Living program. “I’m so fortunate to work with Lad Lake’s caseworkers,” says Teresa. “Before I met them, I had no support system. Lad Lake has opened my eyes by showing me my good deeds don’t go unnoticed; that there are people in my life who do care about me.” An exceptional student, compassionate volunteer, and hard worker, Teresa is dedicated to achieving her dream of becoming a corrections officer. “The greatest thing I’ve learned from Lad Lake is that my hard work will one day pay off,” she says. “What keeps me motivated is that I really want to be successful. I motivate myself by feeding my inner drive so that someday, through hard work, I’ll see my dreams come true.” |
