Here in our community, Lad Lake serves as the emergency room of the child welfare system. Most times, youth enter our facilities at their most vulnerable - whether they are suffering from abuse and neglect, battling addiction or have aged out of the foster care system. Furthermore, 95% of the youth in Lad Lake's care come from a family in crisis unable to support them as they wish; most suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other serious anxiety disorders.
With the help of our partners, we help more than 1,100 youth and their families every year to accomplish our mission of guiding growth of youth and families so that they can reach their potential.
For more than 150 years, Lad Lake has prided itself on evolving to meet our community’s most pressing needs. Our experience tells us the best way to create long-term success is through proven programs that strengthen families, foster healthy relationships, and connect youth to community resources. By doing this, we can see that kids get a second chance in life, and opportunities they need to succeed.
